The concept of Therapeutic Exercise was defined by Licht in 1984 as the movement of the body or its parts to relieve symptoms or improve function.
Building on this definition, we have a more contemporary one proposed by Taylor in 2007: Therapeutic Exercise is "the prescription of a Physical Activity program that involves the patient in the voluntary task of performing muscular contractions and/or body movements with the aim of relieving symptoms, improving function, or enhancing, maintaining, or slowing down health deterioration."
It helps manage physical problems related to aging and certain health conditions such as pregnancy, postpartum, fibromyalgia, etc.
